The book addresses what to do when a safety case does not address a topic and when evidence is to be collected after the Safety Case Report has been approved. However, many projects will attempt to expedite approval timescales by the creation of draft Safety Case Reports that contain the safety case material that is so far available. Creation of a draft Safety Case Report allows the report production process to be rehearsed, and may permit the conduct of initial assessments of the available material, meaning that the formal assessment can be completed more quickly when the full Safety Case Report is available. Draft Safety Case Reports would usually indicate missing parts of the safety case that are expected to be included in the formally issued version of the Safety Case Report.
